About Sara
With more than 20 years of experience in clinical mental health, education, and program development and evaluation, I bring a comprehensive and integrated approach as a counselor, educator, and clinical supervisor. In addition to my clinical practice, I consult with organizations and businesses to provide speaking and professional education focused on deepened understanding and connection with neurodiversity. I hold a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) credential, a Professional Educator License (PEL), and a certificate in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
Clinical Work
My clinical work spans youth, adults, couples, and groups. My areas of expertise include intrapersonal awareness, relationship dynamics, parenting, academic and workplace stress, overwhelm, trauma, suicide prevention, and crisis response and recovery. I integrate evidence-based practices within a somatically informed framework, supporting clients to develop insight, regulation, and meaningful change.
Education
In higher education settings, I served as a faculty counselor, supporting and advocating for students across a range of academic programs while also providing instruction in human development. I am deeply committed to designing and delivering innovative, inclusive, and evidence-based approaches that normalize lived experience, foster resilience, and elevate diverse perspectives.
My work has been published in an international journal, where I explored strategies for helping educators cultivate a somatic sense of safety during times of crisis. I continue to write and research somatically integrated interventions across clinical, educational, and theoretical contexts.
New Development
Currently, my work centers on identifying and mapping patterns observed in applied clinical practice, contributing to research in clinical psychology and neuropsychology related to somatic experience and response. I draw from interdisciplinary perspectives, including dynamic systems modeling, biophysics, and systems biology, to extend existing frameworks and strengthen evidence-based applications. My broader interest lies in examining how models of neuropsychophysiology can inform and enhance approaches to alleviate widespread human suffering.
